Among the six dimensions of wellness are physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social and occupational. Wellness is about achieving whole consciousness, an evolution of your full potential to reach the peak of human existence. Eric strives to achieve an optimal balance between health and wellness. He incorporates a number of factors that involve lifestyle, mental and physical exercise, diet, supplements and social well-being.
Shirodhara is an incredibly relaxing therapy that originated from the ancient natural medical system known as Ayurveda. Of the three Ayurvedic principles in the body, shirodhara is beneficial in balancing Vata dosha (the main force that governs all movement in the mind and body) and Pitta dosha (the force that controls digestion, metabolism and energy production). Imbalanced Vata dosha exhibits fear, insecurity, worry and racing thoughts. Imbalanced Pitta dosha displays anger, irritability, frustration and judgment. ‘Shiro’ means head and ‘dhara’ is the continuous flow of a specially prepared shirodhara oil. The warm fluid pours in a continuous stream over the forehead or ‘ajna marma’ where nerves are highly concentrated. While saturating the forehead and scalp, vibration of the oil penetrates the nervous system. This gentle pressure and warm,soothing liquid allow the body, mind and nervous system to experience a profound state of relaxation. Shirodhara is beneficial for reducing stress and anxiety, eliminating or minimizing migraine headaches, sound sleep, healing cranial nervous disorders, to name a few.
A highly customized personal training regimen begins with a one-on-one consultation wherein a questionnaire is completed to achieve an overall assessment and determine personal goals. The desire for personal training must be driven by self-motivation (not someone else) and a genuine desire to get into shape and become healthy. Eric’s approach includes weight training, yoga, stretching, calisthenics, martial arts training, kettlebells and core strengthening for balance, agility, speed and focus. Client programs are developed to strengthen not only the body but increase confidence, courage, mental focus and achieve goals. In the process, Eric recommends diet tips, herbal supplements, detoxification and any other suggestions he feels will improve the health and well being of his clients.
