As a Naturopathic Consultant, Eric seeks to uncover and heal the root causes of disease in patients who seek his assistance. Eric leads a unique multidisciplinary education center, enlightening and inspiring patients about health, nutrition and universal life energy. Eric’s practice combines ancient traditional Chinese herbal remedies, fingernail and tongue analysis, Ayurvedic, Thai and Swedish massage techniques and bodywork, personal training and spiritual and emotional wellness.

After losing several relatives that had undergone invasive treatment to cancer, Eric embarked upon a journey to help heal others with health issues. His path continues toward deeper understanding of mind, body and soul in a total approach to wellness and natural, preventative care.

Eric is dedicated to the reduction of misinformation to the public. While some modern drugs may work quickly to relieve symptoms, most are riddled with side effects, many of which can be deadly. Survival Solutions 4 Kids offers a no-nonsense survival workshop in a safe and educational environment. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT CHILD ABDUCTIONS IN THE UNITED STATES

  • There are three distinct types of kidnapping:
  1. kidnapping by a family member
  2. kidnapping by an acquaintance
  3. kidnapping by a stranger
  • 80% of kidnappings by a stranger occur within a quarter mile of the child’s home. Acting quickly is critical.
  • 74% of abducted children are murdered within three hours of being abducted.

More than ten years ago, I began studying Thai massage in San Francisco and Santa Cruz, California. Since then, it became a spiritually healing practice, the power of touch imparts a deeper sense of connectedness and well being. Calming the mind through deep breathing techniques and affirmations of music, prayer and positive thoughts are a part of my sacred routine during every session.

An American citizen of Spanish and French descent, my ancestors instilled in me the importance of connecting with the universe along with a compassionate awareness of the needs of others. Life’s journey has led me to embrace a higher power which plays an essential role in the human process of healing and empowerment.

My history includes a background in extensive fitness training as well as nutrition and wellness education. Under the guidance of Butoku-Kai martial arts expert Rod Stanford from Santa Cruz, California, I acquired a black belt in Karate. I also trained under Bruce Lee students Larry Hartsell and Ted Wong. I am a trained expert in Krav Maga and an avid student of other martial arts disciplines. Daily practice of meditation and yoga provide balance, inner peace and harmony.

Preventative Cancer Care

Our philosophy is to take a natural, well-rounded approach involving many actions that can lower your risk of cancer. The tools to prevent disease and recurrence lie within. As such, we all have an innate ability to stay healthy. Through an ongoing series of one-on-one consultations, Eric balances a number of factors some of which include:

  • Reducing or eliminating toxins in your environment
  • Avoiding exposure to known cancer-causing substances such as phthalates and mercury and chemicals found in household cleaners
  • Consuming purified water
  • Eating a balanced diet free of pesticides, herbicides, hormones and antibiotics
  • Learning how to deal with stress
  • Forgiving yourself and others
  • Getting enough sunshine

Health Wellness

Health and wellness go hand-in-hand. Health is defined as the overall mental and physical state of the body while wellness refers to optimal condition of your health. Among the six dimensions of wellness are physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social and occupational. Wellness is about achieving whole consciousness, an evolution of your full potential to reach the peak of human existence. Eric strives to achieve an optimal balance between health and wellness. He incorporates a number of factors that involve lifestyle, mental and physical exercise, diet, supplements and social well-being.

Ayurvedic Shirodhara Therapy

Shirodhara is an incredibly relaxing therapy that originated from the ancient natural medical system known as Ayurveda. Of the three Ayurvedic principles in the body, shirodhara is beneficial in balancing Vata dosha (the main force that governs all movement in the mind and body) and Pitta dosha (the force that controls digestion, metabolism and energy production). Imbalanced Vata dosha exhibits fear, insecurity, worry and racing thoughts. Imbalanced Pitta dosha displays anger, irritability, frustration and judgment. ‘Shiro’ means head and ‘dhara’ is the continuous flow of a specially prepared shirodhara oil. The warm fluid pours in a continuous stream over the forehead or ‘ajna marma’ where nerves are highly concentrated. While saturating the forehead and scalp, vibration of the oil penetrates the nervous system. This gentle pressure and warm,soothing liquid allow the body, mind and nervous system to experience a profound state of relaxation. Shirodhara is beneficial for reducing stress and anxiety, eliminating or minimizing migraine headaches, sound sleep, healing cranial nervous disorders, to name a few.

Personal Training

A highly customized personal training regimen begins with a one-on-one consultation wherein a questionnaire is completed to achieve an overall assessment and determine personal goals. The desire for personal training must be driven by self-motivation (not someone else) and a genuine desire to get into shape and become healthy. Eric’s approach includes weight training, yoga, stretching, calisthenics, martial arts training, kettlebells and core strengthening for balance, agility, speed and focus. Client programs are developed to strengthen not only the body but increase confidence, courage, mental focus and achieve goals. In the process, Eric recommends diet tips, herbal supplements, detoxification and any other suggestions he feels will improve the health and well being of his clients.

Fingernail and Tongue Analysis

During an initial consultation with Eric, a fingernail and tongue analysis is completed. Fingernails display open characteristics that correspond to different organs and bodily health. Because fingernails regenerate every six to eight months, the onset of early illness markers can be detected. The tongue replaces its top layer every three days. A tongue analysis examines color, vitality, moisture, shape and coating. The tongue can provide indicators involving stomach or digestive issues, anemia, lung conditions, hypoglycemia, fever, dehydration, chronic infection, gall bladder problems and much more. Fingernails indicate potential problems with the heart, lung disease, cancers, psoriasis, anemia and more. Some symptoms include colored lines, color change, shape and quality of the nail. By examining fingernails, tongue, ears and other marks on the body, a thorough patient analysis is achieved.

Qigong

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) training is an ancient Chinese exercise and gentle healing method of using mind intention with controlled breathing and physical movements and postures to improve internal health, unblock meridians, clear and quiet the mind and maintain overall bodily health. Rooted in Taoism, Qigong is a powerful system of healing and energy that deepens awareness of the self and nature and creates a feeling of harmony, tranquility and peace. It is often referred to as ‘yan shen’, the art of nurturing life.

The most divine of ancient Ayurvedic rituals, Shirodhara calms the mind and awakens the body’s intuitive knowledge. It is profoundly relaxing and nourishing while improving mental clarity and comprehension. A continuous flow of warm, herbal oil is poured in a slow, steady stream onto the forehead awakening the third eye and crown chakras. Vata Dosha* is balanced. Shirodhara works on the cerebral system thereby relaxing the nervous system while balancing Praan Vaayu (life force energy) around the head. The entire face is rejuvenated as worry lines are softened. Shirodhara can reduce and relieve migraine headaches, wash away negative emotions and thought patterns, anxiety, restlessness, irritability and nervousness.

Though Thai massage may be considered a modern modality, it was actually developed by Buddhist monks in Thailand 2,500 years ago. The technique involves passive stretching and gentle pressure along the body’s energy lines to increase flexibility, relieve muscle and joint tension and balance the body’s energy systems. Thai massage is deeply relaxing and energizing at the same time. Though it might not seem so during your session, the effects of Thai massage are dramatically healing physically, spiritually and emotionally.

What to Expect

Rooted in spiritual tradition, Thai massage is done wearing comfortable clothing such as sweats or shorts and t-shirt. Though it might be preferable if you are uncomfortable with nudity, it is not necessarily the best choice if this is your first time receiving a massage. This is because a Thai massage therapist uses his entire body including feet to move your body into various positions during the massage. For some, this approach may feel more intimate than compared to a Swedish massage wherein you lie on a table and are covered with sheets. However, Thai massage is not to be confused with sensual massage.

Using many of the same movements as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage uses more intense pressure geared toward releasing chronic muscle tension and knots (known as ‘adhesions’). Deep tissue massage reaches into deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia also called connective tissue. Though it doesn’t hurt, it may be a bit more uncomfortable than a Swedish massage which may be an indication of the severity of your muscle tension. In this case, it is advised to speak up if the pressure it too much.

What to Expect

It is important to drink a lot of water after receiving a deep tissue massage to rid your body of lactic acid that can cause soreness the next day. But even so, you may still feel some soreness meaning that a lot of waste products were flushed out of your body’s tissue. Asking your therapist to ‘use more pressure’ during the time of your massage will not necessarily rid your body of the knots that have taken a lifetime to acquire. While the effects of deep tissue massage can be pleasantly felt in the days following, optimal results are achieved and maintained with an integrative program that includes exercise, better posture, relaxation techniques and regular massage.

Among other health benefits, Swedish massage promotes relaxation. More common in the Western world, Swedish massage combines concepts of anatomy and physiology compared to energy work traditional in Asian massage systems. The most popular time frame is 50 to 60 minutes but 75 or 90 minute sessions provide more time to work muscle tissue and achieve better results. If this is your first time, receiving a Swedish massage may be your best bet. For deeper work or more pressure deep tissue massage might be preferable.

What to Expect

Recipients of Swedish massage are traditionally nude beneath towels or sheets (though some feel more comfortable wearing underwear). Only the part of the body that is being worked on is uncovered during a technique called ‘draping’. Various massage strokes are used such as effleurage (short or long, gliding strokes), kneading, friction, stretching and tapping.
